PWS WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
"TAKING YOUR ART TO THE NEXT LEVEL"
DAY 1 Painting Two Images in One!
Explore the magic of watercolor while painting a subject of your choice.
Our project will begin wet into wet with flowing colors creating an
abstract underpainting and visually pleasing patterns. When dry, we will
draw our subject over this versatile background and paint it. A surprise
occurs as the first wash of abstract patterns emerge through the
completed painting! This technique works best with either a light subject
or a light background.
If you struggle with designing backgrounds, this will solve your problem!
Level: Beginners to advanced
TAKING YOUR ART TO THE NEXT LEVEL: DAY 2
Painting Colorful Fall Berries and Leaves
Explore the magic of watercolor while painting a vibrant depiction of Fall
Berries and Leaves on a branch. The emphasis of this project will be the
creative use of texture and color.
This project will begin by texturing the paper, than applying a luminous
wash of primary colors. We will explore both positive and negative
approaches while completing the painting using full palette colors.
As we paint, the texture will magically appear on the surface and bring life
to our subject. Instructor will provide a lesson on mixing greens.
Many techniques will be utilized including texturing the paper, splattering,
stamping, salting, and embellishing with watercolor pencils.
Participants may substitute crab apples, blossoms, rose hip, or other
subjects that includes branches and leaves.
Level: Beginner to advanced
